Pinewood Derby exhibition cars can use more than one lane of our six lane track! When building multi-lane exhibition cars, you may use the following guide for the minimum width between the wheels: Normal car in one lane: 1 3/4" wheel width 2 lane car: 5 1/2" wheel width 3 lane car: 9 1/4" wheel width 4 lane car: (unknown) 5 lane car: (unknown) 6 lane car: (Well, it wouldn't really be a race if the car took the entire track) Please keep in mind that our wooden race track was made by hand, and was not originally designed to accommodate multi-lane cars, so the distance between lanes is not exactly the same, and may not be consistent for the length of the track. Since exhibition cars are strictly for fun, this shouldn't pose a problem. Exhibition cars need four BSA wheels (and the front wheels don't have to be in the same lanes as the back wheels) but the axles and building materials are up to you. You can even attempt propulsion, as long as there is no possibility of damage to the track or spectators (no liquid fuel engines, no solid fuel rocket engines, etc.) Enjoy!
